Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts
from GON Readers
Here are a bunch of tips and thoughts from GON Readers to brighten your day...
Keeping Catalog Clutter to a Minimum
I do most of my shopping by mail through catalogs and online. I find this a
huge timesaver in lieu of trying to find what I need at the mall. But all those
mail order catalogs stack up very quickly, plus I seem to get at least half a
dozen a week!
What I have found works for me--and I have been doing this for a few years
now--is I have a large basket that I keep by my desk. In it, I keep the current
copy of the catalogs I order from. When I receive a new copy, I immediately
discard the old one and put the new one in the basket. This way, if I ever need
to order something, I go right to my basket and have the newest products
available in one location!

Organized Group Dinners
Making a reservation for a group to celebrate? Make your reservations under the
name of the person you are celebrating. Makes sense and everyone who's coming
knows that person's name!
Another tip: No one leaves before the bill is paid. I've never been stuck with
a bill yet!
--Virginia Baker, Pasadena, CA
Cleaning Made Lighter and Boredom Averted
In my family, we split the cleaning by each picking one room in the house to
clean each night. In each room, there is a list on the wall for things that
need to be cleaned on a daily basis. To keep it from getting boring, we switch
rooms once a week.

___ 1. Do today's task on my November Monthly Organizing Checklist. The
November 5 TO DO focuses on outerwear, like coats, jackets and gloves. Visit

access my November Monthly Organizing Checklist.
___ 2. Cut down on paper catalog clutter. As you get catalogs in the
mail that you don't care for and won't purchase from, take the time to find
the company's phone number on the catalog, call them, and get yourself
removed from their list. You're not only keeping your paper clutter at bay
by doing this, but you're helping the company not to waste money sending their
catalog to someone who is never going to buy from them.
___ 3. Give yourself a smile this season of Thanksgiving. Every day
is a good day for a smile on your face and in your heart. Visit:
