  Organizing Thought of the Day

Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts
from GON Readers

Here are a bunch of tips and thoughts from GON Readers to brighten your day...

Keep sewing supplies in one place

Keep basic sewing supplies in the area where you get dressed. That way, whether you find a loose seam while getting dressed or you come home with a button that came off while you were out, you can take care of it immediately, rather than setting it aside for an indefinite stay in a mending pile.

--Julinda Adams, Loogootee, IN

One day, the lightbulb went off!
I always had a jumble of electrical cords to small appliances jammed in a kitchen drawer with no way to tell which one belonged to which appliance. One day the light bulb went off and I began to save the cardboard toilet tissue rolls. They were the perfect size for a folded cord. I labeled them on the outside for instant recognition.

They fit nice and organized in one small drawer now. You can cut paper towel cardboard rolls in two also. They can also be covered with contact paper for strength and beauty.

Never give up
Maria, Here is a story about a lost bracelet. I had a beautiful gold San Marco bracelet that I wore every day. It was my favorite. One day, I returned home from the supermarket and the bracelet was not on my wrist. I looked in the car, called the supermarket, and the next day at school I sent an email to all of the staff about the missing bracelet.

It never showed up, so after a few years it was forgotten. One day, about three years later, I was in my classroom and put my hand in a folder filled with bulletin board decorations and the bracelet was in the bottom of the folder! You can just imagine how surprised and happy I was to have my precious bracelet back again!

I guess the motto is, never give up!!
