Nothing makes the first of the year more exciting for me than sharing some joy from someone who has already had an organizing success. My friend Michelle's son, Chris, is home from college for the holiday season. Michelle sent me a photo of an area in her home that was in need of organizing, as well as her son standing 'at the ready' to tackle it. Her words said, simply, 'Future professional organizer?'

I'd say! Not even 20 minutes later, I received the second photo with Chris's organizing project completely done. Nice job, Chris!

Tackling an organizing project really can be as easy as assessing the situation, mustering up a little bit of motivation, and starting the job. The end result does not have to be fancy. It just has to be effective.

Why not start the year off by choosing a small organizing project and beginning? It's a wonderful way to kick off the new year on an organized note and with an accomplishment right from the get-go.
