Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts
from GON Readers

Here are a bunch of tips and thoughts from GON Readers to brighten your day...

Here's how I make more room in my pantry and cupboards

To make more room in my pantry or cupboards, I use can organizers (the type that the next can rolls forward when one is removed) in my cupboard.

I organize it so all of the same type of items are together (soups, vegetables, etc.). This makes it easy to find and reach them as they roll forward on the dispenser/caddy.

It also makes the cupboard look neat and organized.

Another system for deciding whether or not to finish a book
Hi Maria,

In reference to your December 30th newsletter issue,

Yes, thank you for this. I've also recently read about `being given permission' to not have to finish a book that you don't like, by using numbers (age) as a guide. For example, if you're 50 years old, then read a maximum of 50 pages of a book. If it still doesn't grab you, then it's not for you: don't feel guilty. Let it go!

I will put your number 3 tip into action (i.e. schedule in reading) as one of my New Year's intentions.

Thank you again for all your wisdom. Wishing you a bright and beautiful 2022. Love and light,

--Anna

I used this to get my child to do her chores effectively
When my daughter was little, she had a chore list. Each year it changed based on her abilities. With each new task she was given a poster board with instructions.

When you tell a child to clean the bathroom, do they have any idea what that means? Only if you tell her. I wrote down the specifics and had her assist me the first time. Then, I assisted her the second time. After that, she was on her own.

She knew what was expected and I didn't have to answer a million questions, which I learned early on was usually a delay tactic.
