Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts
from GON Readers
Here are a bunch of tips and thoughts from GON Readers to brighten your day...
How I Keep Necklaces Organized and Tangle-Free
To keep organized, I use suction cups with hooks attached on them. You can buy
these at the hardware store. I attach several of them in a row to the mirror on
my dresser. I then hang my necklaces on them in varying degrees of
length. Each hook holds several necklaces.
In the morning, I just decide which length necklace I need to go with my outfit
and pick one off the hook. It keeps them from accumulating in a pile on the
dresser or ending up in a tangled mess in the jewelry box.

A Fun, Organized Way of Identifying Christmas Gifts
When my four children were old enough to rattle those Christmas presents under
the tree and figure out what they were, I quit putting their names on the tags.
Instead I put symbols like a bell, a candle, a wreath, etc. So then figuring
out which presents were actually theirs was added to the game. On Christmas
Eve, I would post the key, showing which symbol went to which child.
Another year, I wrapped each child's gift in their very own special wrapping
paper, so I knew which gift belonged to which child...but they didn't. It
really added to the fun and resulted in more surprises on Christmas morning!
Thank you, Maria, for being my internet friend for many years now. I look
forward to your ideas and little pushes for me to get things done. Your
enthusiasm is such a motivator!

Ideas for Keeping New Year's Resolutions
I saw a great idea for keeping New Year Resolutions and would like to share it.
It advocates that starting with a 'mini promise' and building upon it each
week, will help keep you more focused as you won't be putting yourself under
too much pressure and good resolutions can be embedded gradually. For example:
Week 1 - Moisturize your hands with a good quality hand cream twice a day.
Week 2 - As above, plus have five pieces of fruit a day.
Week 3 - As above, plus have a short walk every day.
Week 4 - As above, plus prepare a new healthier meal twice-a-week.
Hope you like this idea!
