4 'Keep it Simple' Ways to Create Order Under Your Kitchen Sink
|
Don't allow the area under your kitchen sink to become a jumbled mess. Here are
a few ways I create and maintain order in this area.
1) Weed out. First and foremost, weed out anything you haven't used in
years. It's very easy to 'collect' items under the sink and allow them to sit
unused.
2) Use a few plastic baskets. I have two
plastic baskets under my sink.
One is used to hold dish soap, dishwasher rinse, and a few scrubbie sponges.
The other is to hold disinfectant spray, glass stovetop cleaner, copper
cleaner, oven cleaner, and
Goo Gone. The baskets keep these items
nicely contained.
3) Add a few boxes. I use a few
draw-style organizers to store
dishtowels, gloves, and dishwasher tabs (I remove them from the original box
and add them to these drawers.)
4) Three vases. Every now and then, I purchase I bunch of flowers for
myself or I get them as a gift. I keep three vases under my sink for this
purpose. One is tall and has a wide opening for large bunches, the second is
tall and has a more narrow opening for smaller bunches or a single rose, and
the third is a short vase with a medium sized opening for shorter blooms. It's
very easy to 'collect' many vases under the sink and these can end up stealing
a lot of your space, so don't keep tons if you don't need them.
