Consolidate small packets in your pantry. Put them in a small basket or container to keep them together.

I have an in-home business and would like ideas for saving customer names, addresses, phone numbers and what they ordered from me. I have literally file drawers full (in monthly file folders) of every order.

I don't have a good scanner, the one I have scans one sheet at a time. I'd love to enter them in the computer and do away with the paper. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Or any other ideas for saving this information.

There is software on the market for this sort of challenge. Some names that comes to mind are ZenDesk, SalesForce, and ZOHO, just to name a few. Of course, each of these services can help, and they all come with monthly fees.

If you're looking for a less expensive solution, you can do this in a simple spreadsheet like Excel or Google Sheets. Each column should be labeled with the data you need, such as First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone, Item Number, Name of Item Ordered. When you enter the information, use a a separate line for each item ordered. For instance...

Sue | Smith | 101 Main Street | Jersey City | NJ | 07307 | 39202392 | Stackable Bowls

Sue | Smith | 101 Main Street | Jersey City | NJ | 07307 | 42302398 | Small Containers

You can then easily sort on any column, and all Sue Smith's orders, for instance, will sort together.

Alternately, I can create a custom spreadsheet for you that will give you what you need. Yes, this is one of those services that my company provides. If you'd like to explore this and get a quote from me, I'm happy to assist you with this project. It would be an affordable one-time fee, versus a monthly fee. You then just enter the data into the spreadsheet...using Excel (if you have Excel on your computer) or Google Sheets (which is a free online spreadsheet program.)

Using these solutions, you'll be able to get rid of all of that paper and just keep customer records digitally.
