5 Rainy Day Projects
|
April showers bring May flowers. This is what I tell myself to make rainy April
days a bit sunnier emotionally. Plus, those drippy, dreary days are wonderful
for getting odd jobs around the house accomplished. Here are 5 rainy day
projects:
1. Clean behind your refrigerator. Experts recommend that we clean
behind our refrigerators every three months. This is advice most of us don't
follow. After all, it's a bit of a pain to do, therefore it's the type of job
that gets neglected. But, a rainy day is indeed a good time to grab the vacuum
or hand vac and get it done. Luckily most refrigerators have wheels to move
them out of tight spaces more easily, but if you can't do this yourself safely,
then get some assistance before you take on this project. Alternately, you can
clean the inside of your refrigerator, being sure to wipe off the coils in the
way back.
2. Clean earrings. Get a small bowl and place earrings in it. Cover with
rubbing alcohol and let sit for 30 minutes or so. Using 2 washcloths, take
earrings out and wipe dry with one cloth and place them on the second one to
dry. They are now clean and disinfected.
3. Get that 'detail work' done. When I say 'detail work,' I mean the
narrow slits that need cleaning (keyboards, window tracks, air conditioner
vents, etc.). Computer keyboards can be turned upside down over a wastepaper
basket and tapped lightly to remove crumbs or debris, or use compressed air.
The edges of Post-it Sticky Notes can be used to get debris out in between the
keys. For getting into grooves and small spaces, like when cleaning window
tracks and air conditioner vents, you can use an empty toilet paper roll on
your vacuum hose. Just slip it on, mash it flat, and vacuum.
4. Sort through photos. Whether they are boxes of old photos or digital
ones on your phone or computer, a rainy day is the perfect day to sort photos
by category into albums, photo boxes, or digital folders. If you have tons of
photos on your phone, upload them to your computer or The Cloud and delete them
from your phone to free up space.
5. Organize a drawer, or two, or three. Whether it's a file
drawer, a junk drawer, a kitchen drawer, or a sock drawer, a rainy day is
the perfect day to get it weeded out and organized.
P.S. If you allow it, the 'clutter monster' will take over your home and your
life. Take back control and say goodbye to your clutter today.
Goodbye Clutter!

Because it's impossible to stay on top of everything going on without writing
things down, people are getting inundated with more and more paper every day.
You have to remember a birthday, so that gets written on a calendar. You have
to make a grocery list, so you scribble down a few items and stick the list on
the fridge. Someone gives you a phone number, and it gets written in the
address book. You're planning your garden, and that information is stored in a
notebook. You want to keep track of the movies you want to see, or the books
you want to read--another sheet of paper. A friend gives you an email address
on a sticky note that is now attached to your computer monitor.
Paper, paper and more paper--and it's all over your home!
Information is getting lost. Appointments are missed. Goals aren't being met.
And all of this adds up to chaos and frustration.
This is where the Get Organized Now! Easy Organizer comes in and saves the day.
It allows you to organize all of your information so it's in one place and
easily found when you need it!
Here's what just one customer had to say:
The Easy Organizer is just that--it's so easy. I've got lists now in one
place that before I'd been carrying around in my head, my pockets, around my
desk, in the kitchen... Before, I had post-it notes all over the place. Now
they're in my Easy Organizer. A lot of great ideas and important information
has been lost in the shuffle before this! I love this thing. Knowing where to
find things right away and having a very simple way of entering the info--many
kinds, in many forms--is such a relief. This was a great investment...and,
really, it's such a great value for everything it includes! Thanks so
much!
