How Many Little Jobs Do You Have Building Up Around Your Home?
|
How many little jobs do you have building up around your home? You know what I
mean...those tiny tasks we need to get done, but we never find the time to do.
Continuing in this way leaves us with a super long list of household repairs.
Perhaps you think you are not capable of these repairs, and maybe someone who
has professional experience is in fact best suited to handle those. If that's
the case, make the call to that expert and jot that appointment on your
calendar.
That being said, there are many tasks that you likely can do all by yourself.
By filling in those holes and tightening up the door handles, you will find
yourself in a more tended, pristine abode. So lets get started!
1. Fix a squeaky door. To stop that annoying squeal every time you
open the door, trying applying
WD40 or a little petroleum jelly to
the hinge. Hopefully that squeak will no longer be present.
2. Clean a shower curtain. Start by taking down the
shower curtain and popping it in the
washing machine on a warm and gentle setting. Add the detergent and half a cup
of baking soda. Wash with some bath towels to prevent it from wrinkling or
tearing, and your shower curtain will likely be as good as new. If you prefer
washing the curtain by hand, grab a clean cloth and add a little baking soda.
Scrub and repeat until all mildew/mold is removed.
3. Do a paint touch-up. Begin by wiping away all dust and dirt with a
sponge. Use a sheet of sandpaper to smooth it down and apply a primer. Once
dry, grab your leftover paint and the same type of brush or roller that was
used the first time it was painted to maintain the same texture. Begin at the
center of the touch-up area and span outwards into the surrounding part.
4. Fix a door handle. To fix that wobbly door handle, get a screwdriver
and tighten the base screws, ensuring that your handle is firm and fixed into
place.
5. Fill in a nail hole. Using a spackle knife, fill in the hole using
a lightweight putty and scrape off the
excess. Wait for the putty to dry and then use a little piece of sandpaper to
smooth it off.
6. Unclog a blocked shower drain. If you are having problems with
drainage in the shower, first clear away any obvious debris. Then find a piece
of wire and bend it over to form a hook shape. Now insert the hook and pull out
the clog (in our shower, it's almost always a yucky, gunky clump of hair).
7. Bleed the radiators. If your radiators aren't giving off a lot of
heat and you are ready to call the plumber, perhaps first try bleeding them.
First switch the heat off and let the system cool down. Put a towel underneath
the radiator and locate the bleed valve. Turn it until you hear a hissing
sound. Some water may come out of the radiator. Once the hissing sound is
finished, close your valve.

Because it's impossible to stay on top of everything going on without writing
things down, people are getting inundated with more and more paper every day.
You have to remember a birthday, so that gets written on a calendar. You have
to make a grocery list, so you scribble down a few items and stick the list on
the fridge. Someone gives you a phone number, and it gets written in the
address book. You're planning your garden, and that information is stored in a
notebook. You want to keep track of the movies you want to see, or the books
you want to read--another sheet of paper. A friend gives you an email address
on a sticky note that is now attached to your computer monitor.
Paper, paper and more paper--and it's all over your home!
Information is getting lost. Appointments are missed. Goals aren't being met.
And all of this adds up to chaos and frustration.
This is where the Get Organized Now! Easy Organizer comes in and saves the day.
It allows you to organize all of your information so it's in one place and
easily found when you need it!
Here's what just one customer had to say:
The Easy Organizer is just that--it's so easy. I've got lists now in one
place that before I'd been carrying around in my head, my pockets, around my
desk, in the kitchen... Before, I had post-it notes all over the place. Now
they're in my Easy Organizer. A lot of great ideas and important information
has been lost in the shuffle before this! I love this thing. Knowing where to
find things right away and having a very simple way of entering the info--many
kinds, in many forms--is such a relief. This was a great investment...and,
really, it's such a great value for everything it includes! Thanks so
much!
