2. Don't overbuy. You may feel it's easier to shop for a whole lot of food at once, but very often when people do this, it ends up in a ton of food in the fridge.
When there is an overload of food in the fridge, it's very challenging to find what you need without taking items out, putting them back in, teetering items one on top of the other, etc. Plus, this often ends up in food getting pushed to the back of the fridge, sometimes with it spoiling before
you notice it's there.
I've found, over the years, that it's easier to keep the fridge organized and ensure the food is being used up by shopping for less food at once, perhaps four days worth of food versus seven or more.
You can always buy your non-perishable foods, paper products, cleaning products, etc. in a bigger shopping trip, but just run back to the store every four days or so for your perishable items if you can.
3. Taller items towards the back. Whenever possible, store your taller items towards the back of the fridge, and your smaller items towards you. In doing so, smaller items won't get hidden behind taller items. An easy rule, but it makes a big difference.
