Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts from GON Readers
My June 18 newsletter issue struck a chord with many of my GON Readers. Here are just a few letters I received that are directly related to that issue.

She screamed in horror
Maria,
This newsletter article reminded me of a funny incident from when I was a teenager. My mother was one of those who kept a whole closet full of "too pretty" and "too nice to use" things.
One day, during a heated argument, I yelled at her, "Know what I'm going to do when you die? I'm going to take everything out of that closet and I'm going to USE IT!"
She screamed in horror.
We eventually learned to laugh at that exchange.

Thanks for the challenge
Thank you so much for your inspiration in this morning's newsletter.
We have just moved to a new house and have less storage now that we have downsized to a ranch. I truly love it, but have trouble getting rid of some things or using items I've been saving for a special
occasion.
I am going to try to change that today. Thanks for the challenge to do that.

Isn't it better they served their purpose?
I love your site and newsletters and have been subscribing for years. Last year I realized our wedding crystal had almost never been used. We purchased it together on our honeymoon in Italy 40 years ago.
I have such nice memories of that day. Why do I keep these delicate glasses locked up in a cabinet where they are never seen?
Now they are used every time we have a glass of wine. If they get broken, isn't it better they served their purpose? Thanks,

She never felt she deserved to enjoy the gifts
Thank you so much Maria! Today's tip had an especially relevant message for me.
My grandma never wore the pretty robes and pajamas my aunts and uncles gave her for Christmas. When she passed, we donated them.
But it was so sad that we only remember seeing her in old worn out PJs and sweaters.
She always said she was saving them. She never felt that she deserved to enjoy the gifts she received.
