A few days ago, my husband and I stopped by the veterinarian to get our pet bunny a manicure. They trim his nails every four months or so. No, he doesn't consider it fun, but it's a necessary care routine for bunnies.
They have a "drive up" type service. You call when you arrive, they come out and get your pet, and you wait in the car until the service is done.
While I was waiting in the car, I noticed some dust on the dashboard, so I grabbed the car duster out of the glove compartment and handled that task.
Sometimes TO DOs can be done while you're waiting for something else to happen. Here are a few other good "waiting tasks" to make good use of your waiting time.
1. Waiting for gas to fill: While you're at the gas station waiting for the pump to finish fueling your car, wash your vehicle windows and/or toss out any trash.
2. Waiting for an appointment: Whether you're visiting a doctor, a car repair shop, or your accountant, you may have to sit in a waiting room until your name is called. While you are waiting, review your TO DO list, make a grocery list, or do a portable craft.
3. Waiting for a delayed flight: My sister recently flew to Colorado and her flight was delayed by more than two hours. While waiting, she made excellent use of her time. She cleaned out her purse. Then she went through all of her phone photos and deleted all those she no longer needed.
Finally, she listened to a podcast she had been meaning to catch. It made the time go so much faster, and she got things done.
4. Waiting for something to cook: The time waiting for something to cook is an ideal time to declutter the kitchen. Go through drawers, cabinets and/or the fridge pulling out anything you no longer need, don't use, or has spoiled or expired.
5. Waiting for someone to try on clothes: When I go to the mall with my daughter, she is usually shopping for clothes and tries them on in the dressing room. This is prime time for me to do something productive on my phone, whether it's organizing my phone apps, catching up on email, or meal
planning.
