Do you find yourself asking yourself: "How do I organize my clutter?" If so, that question is not going to help you get organized.
Think, for just a moment, about the nature of that question.
First off, clutter is anything that you don't love and/or you don't need. It's taking up unnecessary space in your life, your home, and your mind.
By organizing clutter, you’re just shuffling things around...things that you don't love and/or you don't need.
This action gives your clutter priority. It uses up your time and energy. It stresses you out. It perpetuates the vicious cycle of storing, re-organizing, and not having enough space for the things you do love.
You may even be tempted to buy organizing solutions for your clutter. Beware! You’ll be paying twice...once for the clutter itself, and again for boxes to keep your clutter in!
After all, clutter is clutter,
even if it’s neatly organized in a cupboard or in a closet.
Stop organizing and re-organizing your clutter.
Instead, ask yourself: "What do I own that is clutter and how do I get rid of it?"
1. Decluttering is the first step. There is no point organizing if you haven’t cleared out the clutter first.
2. Organizing the items you do use and/or love is the next step.
Proceed in that order.
Less clutter equals less to organize, less to clean, less to store, and less to worry about.
Stop trying to organize your clutter. Get rid of your
clutter...and then organize the rest.
