Do you ever feel that life is moving at a superhuman pace? Between school runs, doing the food shopping, cleaning the house, getting to the office, and spending some time with
family and friends, we can easily forget how important it is to slow things down every now and again.
But why is it important to slow down, and how do you do so, while still being productive?
If you continue your lifestyle at an extremely fast pace and never give yourself the time to slow down, this can lead to your mind and body becoming stressed and could result in a complete burn out.
Therefore, to avoid this from happening, allow your mind and body the occasional rest and recuperation it needs to carry on being productive and alert.
When we slow down, we are able to make better, clearer decisions and experience more meaningful connections and conversations with those around us.
To continue being productive and not waste time bouncing from task to task, make a list of everything you would like to get done that day and pencil in small pauses after each one.
Our minds
tend to wander when we are feeling overwhelmed. By taking these small pauses, this enables you to regenerate and renew your mind and keep you feeling refreshed and in the present.
So remember, while you are taking phone calls,
responding to email, making dinner, doing the laundry, running your errands, filing all your paperwork, and everything else you're doing, don’t forget to pause after each one task...and take the mini-break your mind and body needs before continuing with the next task.
