Most people would say that their TO DO list is long, but their time and energy are both short. So, you may be saying to yourself as you read my newsletter, "This all sounds great, but when am I going to do any of this?"
The goal of getting organized is not more work, but rather less work. The more organized you are, the less work you have to do...and the less frustrated and stressed out you're going to be.
That being said, it does take a bit of time and energy to get to an organized state.
The good news is, it doesn't have to be done all at once. It can be done at your own pace.
The only pace that isn't productive is "a complete standstill." Otherwise, anything goes.
Remember, even if you're moving slowly, you're still moving forward. And that's way better than not moving at all.
Add a daily Organizing Appointment to your TO DO list. It can be 30 minutes, 20 minutes, even 10 minutes, but be sure it's on your list.
Then, keep that appointment with yourself just as you would a medical appointment, a dental appointment, or any other important appointment.
During your Organizing Appointment, focus on something small...like clearing a counter, organizing a drawer, or tidying up your entryway. Set a timer for your desired amount of organizing time. Begin and work on that task until your timer sounds.
At that point, you can choose to continue if you wish...or you can stop until tomorrow's Organizing Appointment.
Little by little, appointment by appointment, you'll be more organized than you were the day before.
