5 "More" Things You Probably Should Replace Today

Yesterday's issue was focused on five things you should probably replace today...and today's issue contains five more things you should probably replace today as well. Here goes.

Wire hangers: They're not durable and easily bend out of shape. They can rust. Pants hung on wire hangers weigh them down and often slip off. Most important of all, they are horrible for your clothes. They can stretch out and otherwise ruin your clothing. Change them out today for quality hangers as soon as you can. On a side note, can you hear Joan Crawford right now? If you've seen the movie Mommie Dearest, you know what I'm talking about.

Kitchen sponge: You may be surprised to know that four-weeks is about the lifespan of a kitchen sponge. Keeping it longer means you're wiping more germs onto your dishes than you're removing. Food for thought.

Your bed pillows: Yes, you likely change your pillow case often enough, right? And that's a good thing. But to keep your actual pillow supportive, clean, and free of allergens, it really should be replaced no less than every two years.

Non-stick pans with scratches: If your non-stick pan is scratched, the non-stick coating can actually flake onto your food. Yuck. The more scratched up your pan, the less non-stick benefits you're going to get. As a rule of thumb, when food start sticking to your non-stick pan or you're beginning to see scratches, it's time to replace it...generally every three to five years depending on use.

Your shower curtain liner: Once you begin to see mildew, it's at a pretty gross stage. Shower curtain liners are so inexpensive to replace. Consider doing so twice a year, once at the beginning of spring and again at the beginning of fall.
