While scrolling through my Facebook feed the other day, I came across an organizing-related post that my friend, Lynni, wrote...
"In recent years, I've become more forgetful and left things where I've been. So I made a card with a list of items I commonly take. My purse, cane, sunglasses, documents, lists, jacket, etc. I then
laminated and hole-punched it. I carry it on my keychain and glance at it before leaving a store, place, or home."
I immediately thought to myself, that is definitely a tip worth
sharing.
I like the fact that Lynni laminated her list and attached it to her keychain. This makes it very easy to access. Of course, if you prefer, you can keep a list on your phone in one
of your apps, or on a sheet of paper folded in your wallet.
But having a list you can refer to, and actually referring to it each and every time before you leave (your home, work, church, a
restaurant, a store, etc.), will help ensure you never leave anything behind.
By the way, if you have a child or grandchild, make a little list like this for them as well. If you leave an
umbrella behind, it's annoying; if a child leaves a favorite teddy bear behind, it could be devastating.
