Reader Question #1
When is it time to throw in the towel?
Hi Maria,
I enjoy your newsletters and have used many of your tips. My question is, when you are trying to get rid of clutter and you put an item(s) on eBay to try to sell before donating, how long do you leave the
items on eBay before you know it is time to throw in the towel!? Thank you.

Response from Maria Gracia
Hi Marianne,
Some people will give it about 60 days...and then donate what doesn't sell within that time period. Others wait it out indefinitely. Those people usually have the storage space, and are in no rush to sell whatever it is.
So, the answer really depends on the item, your time, and your storage space. If you really want the item gone, and your space is more important than the money you may "someday" get for it, then I would say using the 60-day rule of thumb is
reasonable.
Good luck!
Reader Question #2
How do I keep headsets, cords, and a mouse tidy in my bag?
Any suggestions to keep my pc bag tidy? I use headsets and a mouse; I never know how
to put them away. Thank you so much!

Response from Maria Gracia
Hi Francesca,
For anything you own that's wired, when you're ready to replace them, consider wireless options. They're much easier to store.
Happy organizing!
Reader Question #3
Do you have sources for donating electronics?
Do you know of sources for donating electrical appliances, fans, home phones or other electronics like DVD players?
-- Wendell E.
Response from Maria Gracia
Hi Wendell,
Here's my secret for nearly any of these items. I take photos of them, and post those photos along with
descriptions on my personal Facebook page. Nine times out of ten, somebody wants whatever it is OR knows of an organization who can use them.
I know the Goodwill in my local area will
accept any of those items...and I'm sure many other thrift stores would as well. You can also check with churches and senior centers to see if they have a need.
For DVD players, in
particular, check with daycare centers, schools, and children's hospitals.
For old cell phones, there are many organizations that would love to have yours, such as Greendrop and Call2Recyle Be sure all of your personal information is wiped clean first...your cell phone provider can assist you with this.
Hope these ideas help!
