My daughter sent me the above photo today from her
college campus on the east coast. Check out the burst of autumn splendor and the fog coming off of the river. Isn't it absolutely magnificent?
Where I live in Wisconsin, we're no longer at
peak fall foliage season. It's still colorful here and there, but many of the leaves have fallen to the ground.
I went for a walk on an unseasonably warm day, a few days ago, and there was
a lot of crunching under my feet. I love that sound.
While I was out there on my walk, I enjoyed some of the homes that were decorated for Halloween. One of the neighbors actually converted
his entire front porch and walkway into a pirate ship. It's pretty amazing...and apparently our town thought so too. His spooky creation got the attention of our local newspaper and it made the front page.
I also noticed the local high school had their team outside practicing football on the high school field...and the cheerleaders were out there running through their routines as well.
Next week, the weather is still supposed to be warm. I think it's time to set up the Christmas lights, before it gets too cold to do so. It's too early to turn them on, of course, but we'll be ready at the end of November.
We're getting our fall chores done...raking, trimming back plants, and putting our gardening tools away for the season. My husband has our snow blower ready to go. Chances are, we'll be getting some snow in November. It's important to be prepared.
How is your autumn going? Are you getting your tasks done? Are you working on an organizing project? Are you investing enough time enjoying everything that this season has to offer? I would love to hear what you're up to.
And if you have some fun fall photos, send them in. I'll share them in an upcoming issue.
Happy Halloween!
