GON Reader Question
How can I keep my necklaces tangle-free?
Good morning. After reading your TO DO for today in your November 28 issue about jewelry, it reminded me that I have about 10
necklaces that took me over an hour to untangle after our move.
I want to keep them, but need a good way to keep them tangle-free and available to see.
If I put them in a box, I will forget about most of them. Any suggestions? I have thought about hanging them on hooks, but I don't have any wall space for that.
Thanks for your daily inspiration and organization tips. I have shared your ezine with many friends and they also enjoy reading it daily.

Hi Karen,
Thank you for your question and for sharing my ezine with your friends...that is so sweet of you and I truly
appreciate it!
I have a few ideas for you regarding your tangled necklace question...and these are all related to storing your jewelry flat since you said you don't have extra wall
space:
1. Use a straw. If you want to store your necklaces flat, all you need to keep them from tangling are drinking straws...one for each necklace. Place one end of your
necklace through the straw and close up the necklace. If it's a shorter necklace, cut the straw to the size you need first. These can then be stored in one box on, or in, your bedroom dresser.
2. Use a necklace tray. This store-bought option, a divided necklace tray,
allows you to store all of your necklaces flat, keeps them separated which prevents tangling, and can be placed on a dresser or tucked into a drawer.
3. Use a necklace
roll. What I like about using a necklace roll is it allows you to take your jewelry with you, keeping it
knot-free, when you travel...and can be used at home as well.
5. Use necklace spacers. In addition, if you wear many necklaces that are layered, a necklace spacer is a great product to have to keep them tangle-free while you're wearing them.
Jewelry makes most outfits look more put-together. Think of putting on your jewelry like putting a cherry on top of a sundae...the perfect finishing touch.
Once your outfit is on, choose and put on your jewelry, and then your shoes last. Dressing in this sequence will remind you to always poke through your necklaces, bracelets, and earrings so you remember to wear them.
Hope this helps!
