Today is my daughter's birthday, and it's the very
first year since she was born that she's not going to be home celebrating. Amanda is away at college and I know she will be doing something fun with her friends there, but it certainly feels different and, dare I say, even a little sad.
Joe and I are happy for her, of course.
Time marches on.
So, instead of sitting at home and focusing on how quiet it is, my husband and I have decided to go out to dinner and a movie tonight. We're looking forward to it!
It's important, in life, to have things to look forward to...little things and bigger things.
Like I said, time marches on...and sitting still while it's moving is not an option for a happy, fulfilling life.
No matter what is happening in your life that may cause your heart to ache just a bit (or maybe a lot), do something that moves you towards happiness.
Sure, it's fun to look back over your shoulder now and then and reminisce, but it's vital to then look forward and embark on those new paths.
