In reference to my January 24 issue, some GON readers wrote in
and let me know what THEY are watching on TV. Their comments are below. Also, read to the end. I've included three "organized" TV viewing tips!

Hi Maria,
We just watched the movie, Devotion, based on a true story about Jesse Brown (first black American navy pilot) and his wingman Tim Hudner. It was a little slow moving at the beginning and then became intriguing. It kept us on edge through to the emotional ending.
Enjoyed the movie very much. I like movies based on true stories.
Thank you for all you do,

Hi there. My husband and I watched the Three Pines series on
Amazon. Also the Reacher series also on Amazon is so good; we have watched it twice now.

My favorite way to relax is watching The Incredible Dr. Pol. Also, my husband and I unwind by watching satire.

When I got Covid in November 2021, I started watching Grey's Anatomy. I do love it and occasionally watch two episodes at once, but usually it's more of a treat to fit in an episode when I am home alone (which doesn't happen very often). I'm only in the middle of season 7 at the moment!

Yes, some times I binge watch The Dick Van Dyke Show or The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I used to watch My Three Sons for a very long time. Now the only ones they show are the ones someone else has recorded and posted. I don't watch them.
All of these are nice for a time of relaxing and time away from the riggers of our normal TO DO lists.
Every time you ask us to reply to let you know what we think, I want to chime in with yet another comment even though I've replied several times before. I love your ezines. Keep up the good work.

Hi, Maria. I watch Coronation Street (British soap opera) every day. I record the episodes and watch them while I walk on the treadmill for one hour a day. Makes the time fly and no guilt involved. All the best,

Organized TV Viewing Tips
1. Set limits. Watching TV is fine, as long as it's not being done so in excess...meaning you can't
get any of your TO DOs or goals accomplished.
Watching a TV series? Decide how many episodes you want to watch each evening. If it's an hour long, I usually will watch only ONE if it's a
weeknight...and then the TV is turned off.
If you're watching the news, set a time limit, like 30 to 60 minutes and then power down.
Set a bedtime rule...like no TV after 10:30 p.m. Guard your sleep.
If it's the weekend, perhaps don't allow yourself to sit down and watch...until you get your three or four priority TO DOs done.
2. View mindfully. It's so easy to plop ourselves in front of the TV set and half-watch a program that's "just okay."
If you're going to watch TV, make it worth your while. Watch something you truly enjoy.
And if there's nothing on that meets that criteria, do something
else...like have a conversation with your better half, work on a hobby, or go for a walk.
3. Multi-task. Watching TV is one of those activities when it is perfectly okay,
and recommended, to multi-task. Now, I would not recommend watching TV and paying your bills at the same time, because paying your bills takes focus.
But if you're organizing photos,
folding laundry, or dusting, doing those activities simultaneously with watching TV will help you get those chores done while you are being entertained.
