I find a cup of tea so soothing sometimes, especially
herbal tea with a teaspoon of honey. It's perfect on a cold day to "take the chill off." And in the summer, a cup of homemade iced tea really hits the spot as a refreshing treat.
Tea bags,
come to think of it, have so many other uses in our lives. Here are 5 of them:
1. Eliminate fridge odors: When you're done drinking your tea, allow your tea bag to dry,
place it on a plate, and put the plate and tea bag in the fridge. It will help absorb any lingering odors.
2. Depuff sleepy eyes: Tea has astringent properties. Lay down,
place warm (never hot) wet tea bags on each eyelid and rest for 20 minutes. Doing so helps to relieve and reverse swelling.
3. Freshen a drawer: Place dry, unused tea bags
in clothing drawers. They will add a pleasant, light scent to your clothing that is not overwhelming.
4. Reduce inflammation and balance skin: Next time you're running your
bath, add three to five unused tea bags to the water. Then soak yourself for 20 minutes. I like herbal tea for this purpose, like lavender or peppermint.
5. Clean your windows and
mirrors. Yes, tea makes a great window and mirror cleaner. Re-brew tea using a used tea bag, wait for the water to cool, add that cold brewed tea into a spray bottle, spray a glass window or a mirror, and wipe with a clean, lint-free cloth to help ensure you don't end up with streaks.
