My New Year's Eve newsletter generated quite a bit
of response from our GON readers. It zoned in on the topic of choosing your very own word of the year...one that speaks to you and that you can use as inspiration the entire year through. I wanted to share a few of those letters with you.
By the way, if you haven't chosen your word of the year yet, it's not too late. Every day of the year is a great day for a fresh start. Here goes...
GON Reader Letter #1
Embrace Life
Dear Maria,
I have been trying to attitude-change this year. I chose "EMBRACE" as my word.
Then I read your list in your newsletter, and I'm thinking, I am going to try to embrace all of that: embrace life, embrace opportunities, to be open and move forward.
Thank you for that one thought, Choose one word. It helped me to realize that I want to Embrace Life this year.
Many thanks and wishing you, your team, and other GON readers, a very hopeful 2023.

GON Reader Letter #2
Sparkle
Happy New Year!
My word of the year is SPARKLE.
I have enjoyed your wonderful newsletter for over 10 years and I have been decluttering since 2001. My husband is the enthusiastic packrat and he
is slowly starting to purge some of his treasurers (junk).
It is now time to deep clean and keep my home clean and make sure that everything I do for myself has a sparkle.
I am also a scrapbooker and card maker, so I have plenty of sparkle already in my rugs!
Hugs,
-- Maryann Mawhinney, Dillsburg, PA
GON Reader Letter #3
Restoration
My husband has had a bunch of health issues this year and we have both gained weight and neglected our fitness routines, so our word for 2023 is "Restoration".
Wishing you all the best for 2023. Thank you for your daily emails!

GON Reader Letter #5
Essential
My word
is: Essential. I relate to this word, essential; not in the utilitarian sense, but in regard to that which is essential at one’s very core.
This is a word to remind me to view my thoughts and actions in terms of what truly serves my greater purpose; a reminder not to waste the precious time I have in
which to live out my life.
Thank you for all the inspiration you offer, and I wish you and your family great joy in this coming year!
