When my daughter, Amanda, recently visited from
college for spring break, she and I created a Specialized TO DO List for her time at home. It included some fun activities...and some things we had to get done. Some of the TO DOs for that week she was in town included:
___ Make airline reservations for summer college move-out (a round trip
for me and a one-way home for her). Wow...this past school year has gone by in a flash!
___ Make car rental reservations (I rented a vehicle larger than I normally would because we'll be hauling a lot of dorm stuff to a local storage unit)
___ Make hotel rental reservations (We chose a hotel located in between the school and the storage unit facility)
___ Contact my dad and sister to arrange a
weekend visit with them while we are there (they live a few hours away from my daughter's college)
___ Book storage unit for summer college move-out
___ Sign up and pay for summer EMT course (Amanda wants this experience and certification so she can work as an EMT and/or Medical Assistant during her second year of college in the fall)
___ Contact family doctor for proof of health
requirements for EMT course
___ Get a mom/daughter pedicure
___ Check out new restaurant in Lake
Geneva, WI that we've been wanting to try
___ Shop for school needs
It was nice to have this
Specialized TO DO List to help ensure we didn't forget to handle/enjoy these TO DOs.
Yes, most of us have a TO DO list for our day-to-day tasks, but now and then it is beneficial to create a Specialized TO DO List...for tasks that are all focused on one topic or for one period of
time.
Other examples would include tasks for a home improvement project you're doing, or a wedding you're planning, or a specific work project you're responsible for completing.
P.S. To all GON subscribers celebrating Passover: Today marks the beginning of Passover, which begins at sundown. Wishing a very happy, peaceful Passover to all of our Jewish
