GON Reader Question 1
What kind of a strap do you use to fish keys out of your purse?
Hi
Maria,
In a previous newsletter, you said, "Me? I always keep my keys in my purse when they’re not being used. I have a strap in my purse that the keys attach to so I can fish them out immediately."
I was wondering what kind of strap do you use as I am always fishing for my keys.
Sincerely thank you,
-- Barbara
PS. A million thanks for your great newsletter.
Maria's Response
Barbara,
The purse I have has a strap attached inside of it with a clip swivel hook on which I attach my keys. It came with my purse.
If you don't have one attached to your purse, use a lanyard. You can always wrap the lanyard around your purse strap and tuck your keys IN your purse before you snap or zipper it shut. When you need to grab your keys, just open your purse, and fish them right out.
GON Reader Question 2
What is a spoolie?
I have to ask, "What is a spoolie?" You mentioned this word in a previous
issue.
-- Janice Doyle
Maria's Response
Hi Janice,
A spoolie is a small, plastic brush used to shape eyebrows. It can be either be used to create an arch or to fill in sparse areas. You can also use a spoolie to separate eyelashes before or after you apply your mascara.
GON Reader Question 3
How can I get past the emotions that come with parting with my books?
Hi Maria,
Like you, I'm an avid reader. I'm overloaded with books at home and am having trouble parting with any of them...which I have to do because I am
downsizing from a big home to a small apartment.
Any advice? Also, do you read printed books or use an eReader?
-- Michelle B.
Maria's Response
Hi Michelle,
Most of the books most of us read, are read once. Then they sit on shelves for years becoming part of our decor. Here's what I suggest:
1. Choose "5" of your favorite books from your collection and keep those only.
2. Donate the rest or give to friends. If you loved reading them, someone else will likely enjoy them too.
3. You're moving...consider that a wonderful renewal in your life. Take a photo of your bookshelves so you can easily see all the books you have read whenever you'd like to enjoy that memory.
To answer your question, I almost always buy digital books now and read them on my Kindle. I do have
a small selection of hard covers that I loved so much and I know I'll read again.
Best of luck on your move (I bet you're going to love your new downsized life)...and happy reading! By the
way, I just read a fantastic book called, The Book of Lost Names. I highly recommend it!
