This was a big eye-opener for me
Hi Maria,
Thank you for all your good advice on organizing not just our homes, but other aspects of our lives as well!
Your message of February 12th really struck a cord with me. We had a woman at my church who did everything herself because it was easier than delegating and she wanted things done her way. She did it all, from setting up the alter, to organizing and running events, to burning palm branches for the ashes for Ash Wednesday.
Unfortunately, she never let anyone do anything unless she micromanaged it. Sadly, she passed away completely unexpectedly one night, leaving us all with not just the loss of her presence in our lives, but also floundering around trying to figure out how things are
supposed to be handled.
Had she mentored and delegated tasks to other members of the congregation, we would have been better able to make a smooth transition and it would have given us the
opportunity to mourn her loss without the confusion of “how are we supposed do this?” getting in the way.
This has been a big eye opener for me, since I tend to think it’s easier to just do
it myself, too.

Easy way to know which drink belongs to which person
My favorite use for clothespins: When I have a houseful, usually family, I write a name on a clothespin and clip it onto their coffee mug or tumbler to save on dishwashing until the end of the day.
Everyone usually has more than one refill; no need to reach for new glasses for every drink as long as they're rinsed in between--and labeled with a clothespin!

I found new homes for the surplus of cleaning products I no longer needed
A few years ago, I decluttered our cleaning supplies and was overwhelmed with how many cleaning products we have, especially considering we have a cleaning service and generally use vinegar and water whenever we do clean.
I listed our surplus on our local Facebook buy/sell site and found new homes for all of it and made a bit of money in the process. We haven’t missed any of it, but love the extra space we have.
