1. Donate what you're not using. A
great way to make more room in your home is to give away some of what you're storing, but not using. There are likely many folks, right in your local community, who could be using and loving these items. Free up some space in your home today and you'll be helping a fellow human too...what a great feeling!
2. Fit a "Help Someone Out" slot into your calendar. Sometimes we want to help others out with volunteering and such, but we don't always have hours in our schedules to give. But most of us have time to help our fellow humans out in some small ways.
Perhaps we can grocery shop for someone who was injured and is now on crutches. Maybe we can bring soup to a neighbor who is feeling under the weather. If we make soup for our own family that night, we can just double the recipe... and bring half to that neighbor. We can call a relative who is going through a tough time, just to lend a listening ear.
3. Learn CPR and First Aid. Whether or not you have a job that requires you to be certified in CPR or First Aid, it's an excellent idea for everyone to have this training. You just never know when you're going to need to use these skills and if the circumstances arise, you'll be able to help out until
emergency personnel can get to the scene.
4. Smile and be friendly. Your kind face and heart may be exactly what someone needs at a given moment in time. Every time you give someone a smile, you're sharing love and kindness.
5. Help someone who wants to be more active. Offer to go for a walk or bike ride with this person or take a class together at the gym. For many people, it's much less intimidating to start exercising when they have a partner willing to do the activity with them. You'll be doing something healthy for yourself and the other
person.
6. Do a chore or task for someone. The fellow human you're helping may be living right under your own roof. Perhaps do a chore that your better half normally does, just to help him/her out. Maybe return your teenager's book to the library if he/she has a busy sports
schedule making it challenging to bring it back on their own.
Perhaps you have a relative in the area who needs a bit of assistance with some minor needs like changing a lightbulb or
inserting photos into a photo album. A little bit of help can warm that person's heart...and yours as well.
7. Create and give a care package. Whether you know someone in the military, a person who is in a nursing home or the hospital, a student leaving for college, or someone who
needs a motivational lift, a care package is a great way to show you care.
Items like magazines, books, a card, flameless candles, socks, lotion, and lip balm are just a few items you can
include in your care package.
Today's mission: Ponder what can you do to help a fellow human this month, and then add those TO DOs to your calendar.
