Gift wrapping is an art that elevates the act of
giving into a delightful experience. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, or just a token of appreciation, a beautifully wrapped present adds a touch of thoughtfulness and care. To ensure you're always ready to create lovely packages, here's a list of essential items to keep on hand for gift wrapping that work for any occasion.
1. Brown Craft Paper: A versatile and timeless option, a roll of brown craft paper
serves as an excellent base for any gift. Its neutral tone allows you to customize the wrapping with various embellishments, making it suitable for birthdays, holidays, baby showers, and more. I almost exclusively use brown craft paper. In doing so, I don't end up with dozens of rolls of
random wrapping paper that can only be used for specific occasions. The same goes for brown craft paper gift bags which can be used for
every occasion as well. 2. Tissue Paper: Always have tissue paper on hand...it's essential if you mostly give gift bags. Adding a few sheets makes a gift look great and hides the gift inside as well for that element of surprise. It also comes in handy if you'd like to wrap
something before placing that item in a gift box.
You can pick up your favorite colors, of course. Personally, I mostly use either white tissue paper or the white tissue paper that comes pre-glittered. It matches beautifully with nearly any kind of gift bag...and I don't have to stock a whole bunch of different colors. 3. Colored Ribbon: Stock up on an array of colored fabric ribbon. From pastel shades for baby showers, to bolder shades for kids birthdays, ribbon adds a fun finishing touch that will make your gifts look "put together."
4. Twine or Jute String: For a rustic and charming look, twine or jute string is a
great item to have on hand. Both complement a range of wrapping paper and gift bags. Plus, they work very well with minimalistic styles. 5. Gift Tags: Keep a variety of simple, blank gift tags handy for personalization. I'm a crafter, so I'll often premake a bunch of gift tags for
various occasions to have on hand.
6. Scissors and Tape: Fundamental tools for any gift wrapping session, a good pair of scissors and transparent tape are essential for clean cuts and secure folds.
7. Greeting Cards: Keep a selection of blank greeting cards on hand. They can be taped onto the gift or tucked into the gift bag.
By maintaining a collection of
these simple yet versatile gift wrapping supplies, you'll be well-prepared to create charming packages for any occasion. The beauty of these items lies in their adaptability – they can be mixed and matched to suit the celebration.
