Reusing Old Birthday and Holiday Cards
Dear Maria,
I so appreciate all that you share with us!
I have a suggestion for reusing old birthday and holiday cards. Cut them into
bookmark sized shapes and use them for marking your page.
My oldest granddaughter (Juno - aged just 3) has added to the process by drawing and painting on the reverse of the bookmarks to
make them extra special!
Hoping your readers will enjoy this idea!

I've Changed My Holiday Gift-Giving
Hi Maria,
As the holiday gift-giving season comes upon us, my suggestion is to think twice about the gifts we're buying and giving. I ask myself, "Does that person really need or want another little decorative item for the home?"
I think we all get caught up in feeling that we have to give something and end up buying just anything we see in order to "get us off the hook." In addition, any times our friends give us little gifts because the item reminded them of us.
I'd like to suggest they just take a snapshot, send the picture, and say, "I saw this and it made me think of you." It would bring a smile to my day, and it would be my choice whether to keep the picture or delete it with no guilt attached.
I've changed my holiday gift-giving to homemade goodies or other food items that can be consumed within a reasonable period of time...and gift cards.
There's no way I could possibly know what that "perfect" item would be that they need or want. I don't consider that being impersonal; I consider it being thoughtful.
Enjoy your
holidays!
