The holiday season is busy for most people and many of us have a bunch of extra TO
DOs...decorating, sending cards, buying and/or making gifts, wrapping, attending events, and everything that goes along with this festive season.
Of course, during this time, the daily grind doesn't pause just because the holidays have arrived. We still have to
tend to our day-to-day tasks, TO DOs, and errands.
Here are some practical tips to help you stay on top of your routine tasks while navigating the holiday hustle.
1. Give yourself grace: If you don't get to the dusting or vacuuming or decluttering this week, it will be there next week waiting for you.
2. Simplify cooking: Seriously simplify. Buy bagged salads that already include the croutons and
dressing. Make one-pan meals. Use your crockpot and allow that to do most of the cooking for you. And it's OK to eat BLTs or pancakes and eggs for dinner now and then, especially during this busy time of the year.
3. Divvy up the tasks: If applicable, don't be afraid to divvy up tasks among family members or
housemates. Whether it's sharing cooking duties, dividing cleaning responsibilities, or collaborating on errands, involving others can ease the burden.
4. Utilize Time-Saving Services: There are lots of companies who would love to cook for you or clean your home. If it's within your budget, hire out these tasks during
this month. Doing so will leave you with more time and energy to enjoy the season.
5. Carve Out 'Me Time': Amidst the hustle and bustle, it's essential to carve out moments for yourself. Whether it's a short break to enjoy a cup of tea, read a book, or take a walk, allocating time for self-care helps maintain your
well-being. Taking care of yourself enables you to approach daily tasks and holiday preparations with a refreshed mindset.
