Frame a Copy, Not the Original
As a professional museum conservator, I don't put original printed photos on display. There are two reasons I say this:
1) exposure to light, even very low light
levels, over time will cause irreversible harm to photographs, and
2) it is possible for photographs to become permanently attached to the glass or plastic
in the frames over time because of chemical deterioration, causing damage and making future unframing nearly impossible.
My advice, make and frame a copy of the photos you love, and display those. Store the originals in an archival-safe box in the dark.

An App I Like to Catalog Books
Regarding your January 13th issue, enjoyed your ideas! Additionally, I use an app on my phone called CLZ books (no, it is not free; there are also versions for a laptop or PC.) I realize this App gets into "organizing" areas beyond your points of physical organization, but I use it to catalog books I possess and books I have
read.
In particular, it is useful when I am looking for books in a store by a specific author, but more usually when in the library. I am able to look up a title: do I own it, or have I read it already? The app can tell me I've read a title even if I no longer
possess it. Thanks!

Planning a Get Together is Good for the Soul
Four years ago, I called my sister in
North Carolina and sister-in-law in South Carolina and suggested they join our other sister and I on a Leaf Looker weekend in western North Carolina. We stayed in a hotel and went to an Apple Orchard...a few trails where there were lovely waterfalls and quaint little towns. We had such a good time talking and bonding that we have done this four times now.
We rotate responsibility for finding a place to stay, a good togetherness activity, and restaurants. We have seen plays, taken train rides, and hikes.
Two
adult daughters came on year number three, but that did not go well. The four of us do well together and enjoy our away time. We keep things affordable and fun. It's a wonderful thing to do!
