Thanking Someone With a Bookmark
Hello Maria,
Last summer, I had surgery and received many cards. This month, I took the time to trim the card fronts, turning them into bookmarks (using a hole punch to cut out a circle and inserting a ribbon). I then wrote personal notes on the backs of the bookmarks. I also attached a preprinted address label to each.
I'm receiving daily acknowledgements of appreciation for the thoughtful gesture!

Smart Way to Make Calendar
Entries
In response to the person asking about her calendar in your January 11 edition, YES to every suggestion you made. And here is one more
to consider: I always put the actual appointment time in the subject of my meeting on my digital calendar, but I book the time of the meeting to include travel time.
For example, if my work has me traveling, I will put the departure time in the subject, but I
backtrack the commute time and TSA time to come up with my actual start time. This helps me never miss a flight. I do the same for doctor appointments.
Another thing I will do is put my hotel details and car reservation number in the details of the calendar entry. That one entry keeps my details in one place, giving me peace of
mind.
Thanks for all of your organizing tips. Reading your newsletter is one of the first things I do each morning!

Vintage Jewelry and My A-HA Moment
Thank you for your January 7th newsletter regarding costume jewelry. I have many pieces of my deceased mother's costume jewelry and I cannot bear to part with any of them.
Recently, while browsing in a vintage marketplace, I saw an art piece...a Christmas tree on an 8" x 10" cushioned canvas, made entirely of vintage jewelry pieces - rings, pins, lockets, necklaces, earrings, etc. A complete "A-HA" moment happened for me!
I plan on making two of these "Christmas trees" to give to my two daughters for next Christmas since they always loved playing with their Grandma's jewelry...these exact pieces!
Thank you for your newsletters! I'm one of your "vintage" followers!
