How To Help Keep Children's Toys Organized
To help keep kid toys organized, I bought a bin system. The one I purchased has six bins. Each of my four children has one bin and the
other two bins are community bins.
This worked out well when I was putting away the toys, but not when the children, babysitter, or husband were putting the toys away.
So, I labeled the bins with each of the child's names on them and then labeled the community bins with the name of their contents e.g.; blocks or balls.
Now everyone knows what goes in what bin. When a person's bin gets to overflowing, it is
time for them to weed through the bin and toss or donate toys and bring up "new" toys from the basement.
Now, if I could just get the kids to agree to keep the bins in the basement, I would really feel organized!

With This Solution, I've Been Able to Dispose of Many Things
As a 60-plus-year-old, living in the same house 30- plus years and having inherited more than my share of treasured stuff, my home was in desperate need of purging. Yet, I found it so
difficult to part with all those things that were memories to me.
My solution was to give my grown children what was meaningful to them. Then I used a digital camera to photograph everything I could part with, and let those items go.
It gave me such a sense of well-being to know that I could just bring up the photo of a treasured item on my computer, I felt like I hadn't really gotten rid of it.
From a small beginning, I gained courage and have been able to dispose of many other things.

This Is a Great Way to Hold Onto Memories Until You're Ready to Use Them in Scrapbooking or Other Crafts
I sometimes feel like I will NEVER get all my scrapbooking up to date. However, until I get caught up, as events take place, I collect all the ticket stubs, programs, pictures (once I print them), and any other miscellaneous items. I write up a few paragraphs about it, maybe with quotes from others, and put them all in a sheet protector. I also write up a few paragraphs describing the occasion and maybe with quotes from others. These plastic pages are all kept in chronological order in a notebook until I am ready to scrapbook.
The journal is great because it was written while the
memories were still fresh in my mind.
