I do this if I don't want to forget to bring something with me...
If I don't want to forget to bring something with me, I place my
car keys by it. I cannot leave without noticing the item, because I need the keys to drive home or to my destination.

A practical use for old business cards
I save old business cards to use the blank back side for little notes. They are handy and I feel like it's a practical use of something that is no longer useful. Of course, after I no longer need the note, it does get tossed.

I'm a huge fan of
nesting items
Hi Maria,
I love checking out your
email tips every morning. Keep them coming!
I wanted you to know that I have become a huge fan of nesting items.
I got rid of all of my heavy stoneware and opted for
white Corelle. I can host Christmas, Thanksgiving, or whatever on real everyday plates. That stack has 24 plates! Platters are all rectangular so they fit in my cupboard without having to be turned sideways or on top of my cupboards collecting dust.
When I was looking for Melamine servingware (aging wrists and stoneware don't mix
well) I found great square nesting ones that have tops that can double as smaller serving platters.
My pots and pans, again, a nesting set with interchanging lids. I got rid of any I wasn't using.
As for my plastic food storage containers, I chose the Rubbermaid brand with lids that are mostly interchangeable.
Just those few changes (along with making sure I purged as I added these items in) have created a kitchen that is clean, easy to be in, and simple to find things when I need
them.
Keep up the great articles!
