My Thanksgiving folder helps my stay organized!
My tip is how to be especially organized for a holiday. We host Thanksgiving every
other year and I am not as young as I once was. In addition, my memory is not as good as it once was.
So, I have a Thanksgiving Folder. In it are reminders of things we might need to be reminded of to host the event. This could be adapted for any special occasion or holiday...or even a folder for each occasion.
Examples of things in the folder:
I have a list of who always brings what dish and a list of what dishes we will
provide.
The folder includes any needed recipes, and the brand of frozen dinner rolls everyone raves about.
I type out and print notes of things that worked well and also what did NOT, such as remove all kitchen décor so the area functions at its best.
I make notes of how I always bring in a card table for the plates, silver ware, napkins, etc.
I take photos of favorite areas after moving small tables, etc. around.
The desserts always go on the buffet and I have matching fall table cloths for the card table and the buffet.
Also Thanksgiving pumpkins, pilgrims, etc. are all stored in ONE (orange) plastic storage box in the garage labeled "Fall Décor."
I have a beverage cart that folds up and is stored in the closet so I have photos of special arrangements of food, beverages,
etc.
I always add fresh cranberries to two different height clear cylinders for the table décor.
And I live by my list of everything that
needs to be set out, done, and when.

This is the only pen I ever use
A Canadian friend of mine (I live in North
Carolina) introduced me to an eraseable, gel-type pen...called Pilot FriXion. This pen erases by friction (thus the name, FriXion), with no eraser mess. So
whatever I am writing, I can erase and insert changes.
It comes in numerous point sizes, colors, retractable, etc. (Amazon, Staples, etc.). It is now the ONLY pen I use, and I can now decrease my Post-It Note footprint.
Another coordinating tool is by Rocket-Book. Their special coated paper is not only eraseable (using the Pilot FriXion Pens), but can also be erased by spritzing with water on their coated paper. Many of their paper products include their cloths to erase and a free pen (they have notebooks, file cards, etc).

I finally realized that less clutter rules!
I just went through a section of my clothes closet and removed a large trash bag full of clothes that don't fit or
flatter me, for donation. I held onto these clothes hoping I'd lose enough weight to fit in them again (over 15 years now).
I hated parting with clothes I hardly wore which seemed like such a waste of money. I finally realized that less clutter and a
closet I can actually move around in was more important.
I still have a ways to go and your tips will help me with motivation. Thank you!
