Swap, Share, and Lighten the Load
Great ideas, Maria, in your September 28th issue. Maybe we could even swap with a friend. We shop their house, they shop
ours. Just say if anything’s offlimits. Or trade boxes of stuff being donated. I’m about to travel to Wisconsin to visit the family and we’re getting together for a photo swap. Everyone brings their photos and we all try to identify the people, place, and
time. Then, we scan them (maybe even run them through an AI program that makes them better.) Then everyone can get a digital copy of any photo they want.
Maybe we oldsters can even give the paper photos to the younger ones…lighten our
load.

Zone Your Way to a Tidy Home
In your September 24th issue, you mirrored my method of goal setting. I take inventory on a
semiannual basis of projects we need to attack, inside and outside of our home.
For example, this year's major goal is clearing the garage. I sorted areas in the garage by zones. Tool cabinets Zone 1, Shelves Zone 2, etc. Then we attack each zone individually and
get to mark them off the list.
This has proven to motivate us to continue with the other 8 zones. Try to keep each zone to a minimum of 1 partial day of work. I have done the same with decluttering the kitchen where I have 6 zones.
My husband uses this same method for renewing our landscaping and annual tasks outside since we are now retired.
It feels so good to look at our "Job Board" and realize we have time to read and
relax.
Thanks, Maria. I have been reading your emails for many years. Everyone should realize that the time it takes to change from always working impulsively to putting together a plan is worth its weight in gold.

10-Minute Toy Tidy
My children get a 10-minute warning before meals, and they put all the toys back on the shelves in their places.
