The Highs and Lows of Grocery Shopping—Literally
I went to the grocery store this week to pick up some olive oil, and as always, I was looking for first cold press—but
I didn’t want to pay an exorbitant price. I scanned the shelves, and of course, the priciest brands were right at eye level, practically daring me to grab them.
Instead, I looked up, way up, and there it was—the exact quality I wanted at a much better
price, tucked away on the top shelf.
Grocery stores strategically place the most expensive and most popular brands at eye level, knowing that’s where most shoppers look first. If you take a moment to scan the highest and lowest shelves, you just might
find better deals or hidden gems that weren’t on your radar.
By the way, in case you're wondering, first cold-press olive oil is the gold standard because it’s made from the first pressing of the olives, without heat or chemicals, preserving the
highest quality flavor and nutrients.
