How Bad Is It?
We all have
little habits we’re not sure are that bad. Some might be harmless, while others could be causing more trouble than we realize. Let’s break down three common ones—how bad are they, really?
Leaving Your Computer On All the Time
Super Bad – If you never restart your computer, you’re missing out on updates and slowing it down with memory-clogging processes.
Kind of Bad – If you at least put it to sleep, it’s not
the worst thing, but you’re still using electricity and skipping potential performance boosts from a proper restart.
If you shut it down every night or at least once a week, you’re in the clear. Your computer gets a fresh start, and you’re prolonging its life.
Not Cleaning Your Coffee Pot
Super Bad – If you can’t remember the last time you cleaned it, you’re brewing bacteria and mold along with your morning cup.
Gross.
Kind of Bad – If you rinse it but don’t deep clean it, mineral buildup will start affecting the taste of your coffee.
If
you run vinegar through it every month and wash the parts regularly, your coffee stays fresh and your machine lasts longer.
Wearing Shoes in the House
Super Bad – If you’re tracking in mud, germs, and who-knows-what from outside, your floors (and your immune system) are suffering.
Kind of Bad – If you have a habit of wearing shoes inside but keep your floors clean, it’s not the end of the world—just extra
work for you and your mop and vacuum.
If you leave shoes by the door and switch to slippers or socks indoors, you’re keeping your home cleaner and cozier.
Some habits seem harmless but can add up over time. A little effort—like shutting down your computer, deep-cleaning the coffee pot, and leaving shoes at the door—can make a big difference.
