Me and My Home: A Year-Long Decluttering Journey
My goal for 2025 has been ME AND MY HOME. I know it may sound
selfish, but it surely is not intended that way at all. My husband and I live in a large home. Our grandchildren visit often and get much joy (as do we) from sleeping over and the younger ones explore and play in the toy room, and we are not yet ready to downsize.
However, we are both fragrantly aware that time is ticking, so this year is ME AND MY HOME. For my own peace of mind, I am going to start the process.
Lucky for me, I have an empty room. I have placed fold-up tables around the
perimeter of the room – a donate, a toss and a keep, and two unpack tables. I am unpacking one room at a time (with the help of my trusted helper, Maria, who has been with me for 34 years) and together we are having fun!
We have assisted our helper in building her own home, so much of what is going to be donated is going directly to
furnishing her home, kitchen, and outdoor area. What a win!
I am going to lean heavily on your daily emails to keep my mojo, knowing that this is a 52-week project that I have broken down into little pieces so that there is no pressure. My Maria loves to bake, so our reward is going to be baking cakes and cookies that she can take home
to share with her family and grandchildren over the weekends.
Thank you for your inspiration. Kind regards.

No More Rusty Stains: A Shower Storage Hack
I have been a long-time reader of your daily emails, and appreciate all of the suggestions and insights very much. My favorite way to start each morning is reading your email with a cup of coffee.
Here is a tip I came up with.
I keep shaving cream in the shower, but the bottom of the can tends to rust a bit and leave marks wherever it sits. I recently purchased a set of rubber coasters
and placed one in each shower. Various shaving cream size cans will fit on them, and no more rusty stains to clean up.Thank you, -- Jan Nelson, Horace, ND

Organizing GON Tips: 20 Years of Inspiration in One Place
Wow, Maria...God answers prayers!
Just recently, I replied to your daily newsletter, commenting that I've been a GONer for at least 20 years, stating that I was going to accumulate all of your previous newsletter info into one
folder, and re-read.
What I found on your website were two new documents, and several previous documents and checklists, which I've seen before, read again, and have downloaded all. I'm going to organize them into categories, but I love every single bit, and I look forward to making everything a habit.
As for one suggestion, write it down. I used to have a large, five subject notebook, and I wrote everything down, every day. It truly helps.
Thanks again Maria!

A Desk That Works: Keeping Clutter Off the Surface
To keep my desk surface
clutter-free, I gave everything a “home” off of my desk surface. I mounted a small wall file to hold incoming papers, used a pretty cup for my favorite pens, and
placed a decorative tray for items I need to access often (but don’t want scattered everywhere).
My rule? If it doesn’t belong in one of these spots, it gets put away immediately. Now my desk stays neat, and I have plenty of space to work.
