Longest Speech: William Henry Harrison's 1841 speech lasted
nearly two hours and was over 8,400 words long. Unfortunately, he caught pneumonia and died a month later, though the connection to his lengthy speech in cold weather is debated.
Inaugurated 4 Times: Franklin D. Roosevelt was the only
president to be inaugurated four times, though the 22nd Amendment now limits presidents to two terms.
Location Switch: Thomas Jefferson's inauguration in 1801 was the first held in the new U.S. capital, Washington, D.C. Before that,
George Washington and John Adams were sworn in in New York City and Philadelphia.
