Disinfectants Need Time to Work
Did you know that disinfectants need to sit for at least 10 minutes to properly do their job? Many people spray and wipe immediately, thinking that’s enough, but disinfectants need time to kill bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens effectively.
Take your kitchen counter, for example. After
preparing raw chicken, you might reach for your disinfectant spray, but if you wipe it away too quickly, harmful germs could still linger. Instead, spray the surface thoroughly and let it sit for 10 minutes before wiping.
This waiting period allows the disinfectant to fully penetrate and neutralize pathogens, ensuring a
safer, cleaner surface. Always check the product label for specific instructions, and make sure to use it as directed for the best results.
