The Power of Remembrance
I’ve
visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City many times, and it’s incredible how moving it is every single time. Outside, the two enormous reflecting pools sit in the footprints of the Twin Towers, with the names of those lost engraved in bronze around the edges. The sound of the water is steady and calming, offering a space for quiet reflection in the middle of a bustling city.
But stepping inside the museum takes the experience even deeper. The exhibits include twisted steel beams, damaged fire trucks, photographs, recordings, and personal items left behind that tell the human story of that day.
Walking through, you feel the weight of grief, courage, and resilience all at once. It’s emotional, but also incredibly important...to remember, to honor, and to learn.
If you ever find yourself in New York, I encourage you to go. It’s not just
a place to see. It’s an experience that stays with you, reminding us of loss, strength, and the power of remembrance.
