Fresh Starts in the Fall
"Life
starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote those words in The Great Gatsby, and they capture not only the
season, but also the spirit of his own life. Born in 1896, Fitzgerald’s story is one of brilliance mixed with hardship. He achieved fame in his twenties, dazzling readers with This Side of Paradise, but financial struggles and personal battles followed him throughout his career. Still, he never stopped writing, pouring
beauty, fragility, and truth into his work.
Although Fitzgerald passed away in 1940, his legacy only grew stronger after his death. Today, he’s considered one of America’s greatest literary voices. His novels, especially The Great Gatsby and Tender Is the Night, continue to resonate with readers across the world, offering
timeless reflections on ambition, love, and loss.
As autumn arrives and the air turns crisp, Fitzgerald’s words remind us that fall is not merely an ending. It is a moment for renewal, reinvention, and the chance to begin again. Just as his writing lives on, so too can each season offer us a new start.
