The Storage Container Shuffle

Did you know the average American household owns over 25 food storage containers, but only uses a handful of favorites regularly? That’s why so many cabinets end up overflowing with mismatched sizes and lidless bottoms.

Back in the 1950s, Tupperware became a household name, partly because it
introduced the now-familiar “burp seal” that kept food fresher longer. Suddenly, every kitchen had sets of colorful containers, and with them came the universal struggle of keeping them organized.

Today, the storage container shuffle is still real. Too many containers (and too few matching lids) make it harder to
grab what you need. The good news? A quick declutter session can restore order. Fewer, well-matched containers mean less frustration and more space in your cabinets.

"I like how you just tell us to do short little things, like take 5 minutes and then stop. It really helps and is not overwhelming."
