Adding On, Upgrading, or Sticking to What You Have?
When I saw this comic the other day, it made me laugh. Mainly because
something similar just happened in real life. I was at a client's house a few
days ago, when her young son asked her to hang his drawing on the refrigerator.
She said there was no more room for more drawings, unless they removed one of
his previous masterpieces. Her son replied, 'I've got to talk to dad then about
going to Sears because it's time for a much larger appliance!' So cute!
Yet, I think this is not too far-fetched when it comes to many folks who wish
they were more organized. For instance, a stuffed-full filing cabinet may prompt
someone to go out and buy another, an overfilled refrigerator may result in
another unit being purchased for the basement or garage, or a cell phone with no
more storage may prompt an upgraded phone purchase.
Sometimes, an additional storage unit or upgrade is well-warranted. Other times,
it's money that doesn't need to be spent.
In most cases...
That stuffed-full filing cabinet just needs to be weeded out. Papers that are
outdated or no longer relevant can be removed to make space for more current
paperwork.
The overfilled refrigerator may be a result of buying way too much food on your
grocery shopping trips...or not eating your leftovers before making new meals.
The cell phone with no more storage may be rectified by transferring the photos
and videos you wish to keep to The Cloud and deleted from your phone, as well
as removing apps you never use.
While keeping clutter under control and staying organized sometimes involves
purchasing something new for more effective storage, more often than not, you
can get excellent results from simply reducing the amount of whatever it is you
are storing in the first place.
P.S. By the way, do you feel like, no matter what you do, you can't seem to get
organized? If you've been struggling to get yourself and your home organized
once and for all, I have the PERFECT solution for you! Definitely check it out

Making Morning Wake-Up, During the School Year, Easier on Everyone
My son is beginning school again...he's a third grader this year...in
just a few weeks. He's not a fan of waking up early, and I'm afraid I've allowed
his bedtime to get past 10:00 on some nights this summer.
Starting today, I'm sending him to bed 15 minutes earlier from the previous
night...each night...until he's back at an 8:00PM bedtime on school nights.
So, tonight will be 9:45P, the next day will be 9:30P, the day after that
will be 9:15P...and so on and so forth.
In doing so, my hope is that waking up for school after Labor Day will be less
of a laborious process...for him and for me! Plus, I'll be sure he's had plenty
of rest to keep him more focused at school once it begins.
