In Some Cases, Procrastination is Not So Bad
We are constantly told that it is not good to procrastinate. Procrastination is
often viewed as a negative thing and something which should be avoided at all
costs. Putting things off is rarely seen as a good thing. But there are
circumstances in which waiting may be the best thing you can do.
1) When purchasing a big ticket item: When buying higher ticket items it
can be beneficial to wait until you have had time to consider all options
available to you. This includes price, available features, warranties, etc.
Don't be in a rush to make a larger purchase until you have taken the time to
research the details to make an educated decision.
2) Before committing your time: It is easy sometimes to jump in and
commit yourself and your time to people looking for volunteers for church,
school, or other social functions. It is great to volunteer when the need is
there, but don't do so until you have taken time to consider if you truly have
the time to do so.
3) Before apologizing: When an apology is needed for something you may
have done or said, it can be a knee jerk reaction to immediately apologize. In
many cases it may be better to hold off until you have had ample time to think
things through. A heartfelt apology that comes later can be much more meaningful
to receive than an apology that you immediately deliver in the moment.
4) After a major life event: There are often major decisions that need to
be made after certain life events. A birth, death, divorce or any other major
life event often leaves us with serious decisions that need to be made. Certain
decisions surrounding these circumstances obviously cannot wait, but others can.
Allow yourself time before making the big decisions that do not need to be made
immediately. Taking time to process your emotions will allow you to make better
decisions for yourself as well as for those around you.
5) When help would make the job easier: There are times when we have
certain things we want done. Painting a room, moving some furniture or shopping
for a new car are all things we could probably do alone if we had to. But
sometimes certain things are easier when there is someone there to help us. Wait
until you can get some help before attempting some of these things alone.
Although doing them alone may mean they get done sooner, waiting for help may
mean the jobs actually get done faster.
6) Before signing a contract: This seems to be a no brainer, but this may
pop us more than you realize. Some contacts, such as gym memberships, may be
valid for a year but will continue to go month to month after the initial year
has ended, unless you tell them to cancel. Not being aware of this can cost you
money before you even realize what is happening. Always take the time to read
the full agreement, top to bottom, before you sign anything.
7) Before believing everything you hear or read: I saw a social media
post one day that said., 'Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.' It
was positioned as a quote from Abraham Lincoln. I found it very funny, but at
the same time very true. In the age of Internet and social media, it can be very
easy to take everything we see and read as the truth. Just because somebody
claims to be a professional or an expert online does not necessarily mean that
they are. Take a step back before immediately assuming that everything you see
or hear is true...and definitely before passing it on.
Just to be clear, by procrastinating in these instances, I don't mean you put
the task off forever, but rather do a little bit of research and/or thinking
first. Not everything is meant to be done as fast as possible...and not
everything is meant to be done at all for that matter. Sometimes, a little bit
of waiting time...and thinking/planning time...is the best method.

Captivate Your Man, Make Him Fall In Love,
and Want To Give You The World!
If you want to be the kind of woman he simply can't resist (and would never even
consider leaving) I recommend you go check out this page now...

Here's what this is all about...
Have you ever wondered why some women manage to keep their men faithful, loyal,
loving, romantic and just plain crazy about them, while so many others don't?
You're certainly not alone.
The fact is (and my email inbox can attest to this) that most women live in a
state of constant anxiety, wondering if he REALLY loves you, if he's looking at
or thinking about other women, if he's cheating.
But there is a way that you can get your man basically ADDICTED to you. Bob
Grant has put together a special program that teaches you how to become the
woman of his dreams, even if he barely pays attention to you now. I've reviewed
the doctor's program and, frankly, it's excellent. I wouldn't recommend it to
you if it wasn't.
Go check out the link below and discover for yourself how easy it is to heal
your relationship and have the man of your dreams.
You can either watch the video...or simply read the text version. Do yourself
a favor before Valentine's Day, and get your hands on this resource. Visit:

Theme of the Week: Our theme of the week is 'ability' and my home page
quotes reflect that.

Week Beginning January 20
1) Buy new pillows for your bed. This TO DO is on my own personal list.
To determine if yours are in need of replacement, fold each in half. If it
doesn't spring back into shape, it's time to be replaced. If you have to replace
lots of bed pillows, and it's too expensive for you to do so, try replacing
one per month until they're all fresh and new. A good night's sleep for
everyone will be worth it.
2) Recycle super-old tax paperwork. Shred and recycle any tax paperwork
prior to 2010. Unless you have very special financial circumstances (check with
your accountant), don't keep these musty-dusty papers, or the envelopes or
boxes they're in, a moment longer.
3) Donate a box of craft supplies. If you're a crafter, like I am, you're
probably having a small panic attack. But really, every crafter (I repeat...
every crafter) has craft supplies they will never, ever use. Grab a box...and
yes, it has to be larger than a shoe box...fill it up, seal it, and bring it
to your local donation center.
'The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for
more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's
what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you forever.'
--Nicholas Sparks
