Quick and Easy Way to Remind Myself
I had to find a quick and easy way to remind myself in the car this morning that
the interstate ramp I almost always take to get back home would be closed when I
returned. I had my errand list Scotch-taped to the dashboard of my car. I
quickly jotted down the name of the exit ramp and then turned the list so it
hung sideways on the dashboard.
When I got back in my car I knew from the sideways list that something was
different, which helped me to remember the better way to drive home.

Maria, I just love your newsletters. Originally, I was looking for a better way
to stay organized at work but now your web site and newsletters have become so
much more. They truly are advice for living the life we love. Truly!
One of the best parts too is information from you that I regularly share with my
son and daughter-in-law. They are vegan, earth-conscious-minded young adults and
they love your information on organizing, healthy eating, gardening etc. that I
send them.

A Reader Asks, 'My Glass Shower Doors Don't Look Clean After Cleaning'

Hi Maria, Love your column! Always picking up new hints. I get so excited when
you mention something and I can say, 'I already do that.' Hoping you have a
suggestion to my problem.
I have glass doors in my shower. We always use a squeegee after each shower, but
they never look really clean between cleanings. Is there anything I can put on
them to coat them or do you have any suggestions?

Awwww...thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying my newsletters. Congrats on all
of your organizing efforts!
Regarding your question, I too have glass shower doors in the master bathroom
of my house.
I'm glad you're using a squeegee. That's your very best defense against hard
water, soapy buildup, or both. Cleaning with a squeegee, after every shower, will
help eliminate the build-up. In addition, after doing so, spray a 50-50 solution
of vinegar and water on the glass doors (I keep a spray bottle of this solution
in the bathroom.)
Once a week, I clean the glass shower doors with a mixture of baking soda and
water. Put 1/2 cup baking soda in a container, and add enough water to form a
thick paste. Then, rub the paste on with a non-abrasive sponge. Afterwards,
rinse with vinegar. Then rinse with water. Then dry.
If your door has developed any etching over the years, unfortunately, there is
nothing else you can do at that point, except replace the door OR add an
expansion rod and a shower curtain to cover it up.
