Why I Wash My Sheets on Saturdays
For years and years, I've been washing my sheets on Saturdays? Why? Because
there is nothing like falling asleep on a bed that is made with fresh, clean bed
linens, and waking up on them on a Sunday morning. I believe it's one of the
most glorious ways to begin my week ahead on the right foot.
In fact, I use Saturdays for a number of other TO DOs to help ensure the
upcoming week starts on a good note.
For one, I always give my calendar a good look-over on Saturdays, ensuring I'm
not only focusing on 'maintenance' TO DOs for my family, my home, and myself,
but also allowing time to work on short and long-term goals...and to fit in
time for fun and entertainment as well. I make adjustments as needed and I'm
fully aware of what's coming up in the week ahead.
Another thing I do is I pick one or two SMALL organizing, decluttering, and/or
cleaning projects to start and complete around the house, like organizing a
drawer, straightening out the linen closet, adding a few items to the donation
box, or washing a window or two. Yes, every once in awhile, I do a major
project on the weekend, but I like to keep most weekend chores light and
doable...so I can actually enjoy the weekend.
Third, I almost always work on meal planning on Saturdays. Because it's summer
and it's so nice outside, I usually do this while relaxing on my deck. I get
my grocery shopping list done at this time as well.
In doing these tasks, most of my Saturdays are calm and relaxing...BUT there's
still some productivity at work. On weekdays, I focus on one room a day, doing
some light cleaning and tidying...so that no deep cleaning is required on the
weekends.
What do you do on Saturdays to start your week ahead on the right foot? Reply
and let me know...and we'll include your responses in an upcoming edition.

Get Ready for the Holiday Season...
Starting Today!
With the Get Organized Now
Christmas Holiday Planner
Your Holiday Season is Guaranteed
To Be the Best Planned,
Most Relaxed, Enjoyable Ever!
Christmas is supposed to be the season of joy, warmth, reflection, and good
will. Why then, is it such a stressful time for so many people? There's no doubt
about it. Once Thanksgiving ends, life gets busy.
There are holiday cards to be sent. Gifts to be purchased or made. Holiday
dinners to plan. Church, community, and family get-togethers to attend. Holiday
treats to bake. Stockings to stuff. Tree trimming, gift wrapping, and getting
your house ready for company. The list is endless.
It's no wonder there's so much stress and exhaustion at Christmas-time.
The good news is, it doesn't have to be that way.
That's where my Christmas Holiday Planner comes in. You see, knowing about all
the stress and frustration so many people experience this time of year, I
thought to myself, 'There has to be a better way...Christmas is supposed to be a
joyful, cheerful time.'
And then, suddenly, it hit me. I had to do something to help folks plan and
prepare better. I had to help get all of the information, ideas, and notes into
one place. It needed to be a cinch to use. It had to have the ability to store
information that almost everyone who celebrates Christmas needs to have handy.
And it had to be cost-effective.
And that's how the Get Organized Now! Christmas Holiday Planner was born. It's
ready to help you experience your most organized Christmas ever this year! For

July Checklist: How are you doing with the TO DOs listed on my July 2018
Organizing Checklist? We're almost ready to upload the new month ahead.
getorganizednow.com
Week Beginning July 21
1) Do something to help improve your community. What can you do that
will help make your community a better, nicer place to live? Perhaps you can
dress up your porch, pick up stray trash when you see it, or shop at local
businesses? Make a concerted effort this week to do something that will make
a positive difference for your community.
2) Clean trash and recycling bins. The easiest way to do this is drag
these bins onto your driveway, add a tiny bit of dishwashing soap, and hose them
out. If there is any stuck-on food, you may have to scrub it off with an
extended brush (those meant to clean cars) if your hose is not powerful enough
to get it off.
3) Score yourself a bargain. According to Consumer Reports, July is the
best month to buy summer must-haves like gas grills and dehumidifiers, as well
as several household appliances. So, if your grill or one of your appliances
is on its last leg, now would be a good time to replace it.
'Unclutter your life. Unclutter your home. We feel best when everything and
everyone around us is in harmony and in balance. The peace and the beauty of
your home will raise you up, and give energy to your goals.'
--Eileen Anglin
