Here are some things I really enjoyed in the past week...and hope you do as well!

___ 1. Squirrels gathering nuts: While I don't like the prospect of summer coming to an end soon, I am fascinated whenever I see a squirrel gathering nuts for the colder days ahead. After all, I'm a huge believer in planning ahead. In fact, a recent study conducted by professors in the Department of Psychology at University of California claimed, 'squirrels use a mnemonic technique called spatial chunking to sort out and bury their nut scores by size, type, and perhaps nutritional value and taste. When they are hungry later, it is theorized, they can remember where to find what they want.' Now really, how could anyone who believes in good organization argue with the coolness of that?!


___ 2. Banana slices with peanut butter: When considering a go-to snack that's filling and delicious, I opt for banana slices topped with natural peanut butter (no bread). The banana, offering quick carbs, and the peanut butter for protein make the perfect pair.


___ 3. Professional Kitchen Shears: I can't imagine prepping food in my kitchen without a quality pair of kitchen shears. I use mine to for an endless number of reasons: to snip herbs, cut meat, chicken, or fish, dice raw or cooked bacon, cut quesadillas and pitas into wedges, quickly chop up canned tomatoes, remove unwanted carrot tops...the list goes on and on. In fact, my last use was snipping up cooked chicken, super-fast, for chicken salad. Here is the brand I use:
